Theluli faa Banbukeyo (deep fried ripe breadfruit)

Today I am leaving abroad for some holidays with my kids. I may have to shift also due to some changes in life. So for some days I may not be posting any recipes but as soon things settle will start posting new & delicious recipes but below is a simple snack recipe.

Breadfruit is a starchy and a very healthy fruit. Bread fruit is used to make sweet snacks, desserts & savory foods in Maldives. One of the common everyday snacks is theluli banbukeyo made by frying slices or wedges of ripped breadfruit pieces. If we want a more crunchy texture of fried bread fruit then bread fruit have to be sliced very thinly & if little soft texture it have to be sliced little thick about 1 to 1/2inches.

Ingredients:
1 ripe breadfruit
Vegetable oil

Method:
Peel the skin out of breadfruit (Ripe breadfruit when touched skin will come off very easily), divide the breadfruit in to two half’s vertically remove the core area and slice the bread fruit in to slices.

Heat oil and deep fry until light golden brown…………………………………enjoy!
